Mindfulness Meditation - Pay No Mind Meditation
Accepting ourselves is often a hard thing to do with all of the negativity that surrounds our world. Judgments of our looks, our choices and our feelings stir up so much emotion that often the stress of it all can do us in. That is where Mindfulness Meditation comes in and helps create an atmosphere of a presence within that is unobtrusive and tranquil.

This popular form of meditation, commonly referred to as the Art of Doing Nothing, is thousands of years in practice because it really does allow you to create so many opportunities for yourself, while seemingly doing nothing at all.

Mindfulness Meditation incorporates all of the basic elements of meditation – breathing, posture and gaze - but with the important aspect of facing our thoughts head on with love and acceptance. One usually, by nature, sits in the meditative state and sees a thought or stress pop into the mind. Mindful Meditators learn to say, 'Okay, negativity. I accept you, I don't judge you and you have no control over me' and simply refocuses the breath. This beautiful, stress altering experience is definitely one to try.
How to Begin Mindfulness Meditation
Sitting with a straight posture, with hands in a comfortable position in the lap or at the sides begin your breathing. Focus your eyes easily on something towards the ground – a flickering candle, a spot on the floor or anywhere your eyes can focus during your meditation.

Taking in breaths slowly and letting each one take you to a calmer state as you blow out the stress. As thoughts come to you, as they so often will, just observe them. Let them linger in your mind. Your shopping list, that guilt you feel from eating poorly today or that missed assignment you need to get to – just let it dangle in your mind and thoughtfully receive these thoughts. You are giving yourself the gift of peace now and these feelings can have no hold of you, don't judge them, let them get right up and move along. Refocus on your breath and let soothing feelings encompass your body.

After a short time you will begin to feel the mind flit in and out of thought consciousness as you remain in your mind without being stuck in your thoughts.
